In the final picture did you paint in all the reflections your self? How did you do it?
I've been strolling through your gallery and feel like drawling jenny now ^^; and the reflection effect is really cool

Those reflections are a pict that I warped over several parts of her body , to simulate the reflection of the Foregorund.

i'm pretty intersted in how you do the last step, is that a render? or you work on reflections and specular lighting by your own?

Excellent wip, Fern. It's always cool to see how your art goes from pencils to full color.

Groovy stuffs indeed!
Did you use PS or Illustrator? Cuz that has to be the pen tool involved somehow right?

I only used photoshop cs2 here ,
and almost all by hand .
I did used a circular marqee for her head , base and paint cans , since I wanted perfect shapes.

How do you get such clean lines in the line art part? My stuff always looks like a sketch.

the sketch was a small image , but I resized it foir a much larger one .
on this large file , I worked on the lines by hand .
even if they look a little crap on a closeup , when I reduce the size the lines looks almost perfect .

There seems to be a missing link. I understand each of these steps. And while you have amazing talent and precision in your work, the progression is fairly simple. And then WHAM!!!!! you add your detail and texture and i completely loose you.

I used some photos , that I distorted over specific areas , using the warp tool .
them I change the layer property to screen .
on this paiting I used about 14 photos .

The viewing of progression is always interesting, the way something so rough and somewhat unrefined can develop into something of extraordinary beauty.

Awesome.
